The Great Flood

I’m sure most of you are aware that our classroom flooded this past Tuesday night. This was due to the rain and a drainage pipe on our roof that had become disconnected.  We lost a lot of books and Big Books and our room (carpet and ceiling tiles) had to be professionally cleaned and dried out. During this process, the students were well taken care of by our principal, Mrs. Koonce, and other classroom teachers. Our building has been well taken care of by our superintendent, Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Corbell, our maintenance director. Many thanks to all who helped. I must say, the students were real troopers throughout all of the changes.

With all of this said, the students’ instruction will not change much from last week. We will get all caught up this week with reading, writing, math, and social studies. Thank you for your patience and your support through all of this. I have amazing parents!
