Thanksgiving Readers Theater

This Friday at 11:15, we will present our First Grade Thanksgiving Readers Theater. It doesn’t last long, but I hope as many parents who can attend will be there. Please continue to have your child practice reading their part with fluency and expression.

This week:

Guided Reading: I will finish up testing students on reading levels and we will practice the readers theater as a whole class. These types of readings are great to improve fluency. Students will continue to read to me daily.

Word Work: The class will continue to practice syllables and use the ability to break words into parts to better phonetically spell unknown words.

Math: Students will continue to use addition and subtraction in computation as well as problem solving. Students will also continue to use the hundreds grid to identify and use greater numbers.

Social Studies: After many shared readings of events from Thanksgiving in the past and present, students will compare and contrast these.

Students may leave after the Thanksgiving Readers Theater. You can sign them out in our classroom.

Thank you and I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Mrs. Benson
