A small Mexican Free Tail Bat was discovered in the stairwell in the Intermediate School this morning about 9:45. No student ever came in contact with the bat at any time. The City of White Oak Animal Control was notified and came and removed it from the building without incident. The bat will be sent to Austin to be checked for rabies as protocol dictates. The school was searched and no other bats were found. This will continue for the next several days. There was little to no impact on the instructional day.
